trip to utah.

this last week some friends and i took a trip to utah!
it topped the charts for best trips taken in this girls life.
i. loved. it.
so on thursday kara, thomas, and i headed to the Boise area for the night.
then early friday morning we met with our roommate Courtney at Ihop! yummmmmy.



yaa... i look like ive been sitting in a car for hrs but whatever.;)

 so after breakfast.... off we were to UTAH! booyah!
after lots of confusing directions and getting lost, we made it to Chipman Hall (a womens dorm at BYU)!!!
Mike came and found us... and I was ready to jet off to Wyoming. But he had a sneaky surprise...
"Do I need to grab my stuff now?" I asked. "Not yet..." he replied with a smile.
As we walked through the parking lot... he started heading to a motorcycle... and got on it...
and told me to get on it... and he drove me all around Provo on a MOTORCYCLE!
dang. i felt like the coolest girl in all of Utah. i wish i had a picture.
i dont think i stopped smiling until.. well.. i still havent stopped.
after that... off to Wyoming we went! it was like four hours more in the car... but no matter!
because we both like jamming out to some ol' country music.
can you say yee-haw?
so i have this little problem... when i travel, i tend to drink a TON of water. which meant i had to go to the bathroom... a LOT. and in one small town there was only one option...


yep. i've been in a liquor store.



they tried to card me... but after insisting that i just had to use the bathroom and not drink alcohol, they let me in without a card.
after some icy roads... we arrived at Mike's sister's beautiful house!
after a mandolin concert, a turkey burger, and a nurf war... it was time to crash.
for saturday, Mike had a secret plan. after pumpkin pancakes and homemade syrup...
we headed off to Jackson, Wyoming. (Can you say coolest surprise EVER?!)

after snowshoeing we took a stroll around Jackson Hole...

 funny story. we were at a store with outdoorsy clothing... so im standing in line to buy a sweatshirt when mike pops into line behind me. he looks at what i have and his mouth just kinda dropped open. so i looked at what he had in his hand.. and my mouth kinda dropped open. we had picked out the same sweatshirt. but i picked it first... so he was copying me. his sister even called us twins. haaaaaha.
after what was supposed to be shorter trip back to provo, we arrived way later than expected. but its alright; we had our country music. :)
on sunday brother Baxter spoke in church. and he gave a GREAT talk! so good. then we went to Emma's ward. i spent the afternoon with Emma, Thomas, and Chelsea...
for the evening though... a trip to salt lake was definitely a must.

ah. i love temple square with my whole heart.



on monday.. i got to go to emma's book of mormon class, then just hang out for awhile! we all ended up going to see The Vow at the 9:45 showing. Thomas cried. How cute.

okay, tuesday. valentines day. i saw girls with huge sheets of cookie dough just plowing it in. i heard other girls talking about how they were going to become mormon nuns (except that they dont exist...) because they hate boys. and more than anything, i saw a TON of couples. how sweet. after another motorcycle ride, mike and i headed off to the much awaited for... LADY ANTEBELLUM CONCERT!



we got there a little early.. the arena was HUGE!

first came out thompson square. then darius rucker. both were so good! then after darius rucker they played dance music and everyone jammed out while we waited for lady a.

after a little waiting that seemed like forever... lady antebellum entered the stage singing "we own the night." GAH! SO! GOOD! i almost started crying a couple times. you know how in some concerts the artists are horrible? well, this was NOT the case! they were as good if not better than their cds. it was amazing.

after the concert. the trees around the stadium were all lit up. so pretty! and cold.

we got back to provo, got some ice cream, drove around a bit, and said goodbyes.

in the very beginning mike asked what my favorite trip ever was. well, from looking back now, this is it.

i was so sad to leave. but everytime a certain thompson square or lady antebellum song comes onto my ipod.. i cant help but laugh out loud at the memories.
